The Pilot's Watch Chronograph is the reference that anchored IWC's modern Fliegeruhr line. The 43mm case, the oversized triangle at twelve, and the day-and-date aperture at three trace back to the Mark series and the 1940s observer's watches before it, but the execution here is pure IWC: a soft-iron inner case shielding the movement from magnetic fields, and a convex sapphire crystal secured against displacement under a drop in cabin pressure.
Inside is the Calibre 79320, a 4 Hz automatic chronograph with a 44-hour power reserve, hacking seconds, and a 12-hour totalizer. The subdial layout is the giveaway for this generation: thirty-minute counter at twelve, twelve-hour counter at six, running seconds at nine.
